On the occasion of Durga Puja 2022, the Government of Assam has decided to pay salaries in advance. The salaries will be credited at the end of the month. On the other hand, the decision was taken as Durga Puja will start on 2nd October.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to share the good news. He wrote ” To ensure unhindered celebration during upcoming Puja season by State Govt employees, we’ve decided to start paying salaries from 29 Sept onwards, since there are continuous holidays from Oct 2. This is in appreciation of their commitment & dedication. We care for our employees!”

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed the finance department on Thursday to begin early salary disbursement for all state government employees in anticipation of the upcoming festive season.
Meanwhile, the Assam state government has appointed 11,202 people to various positions across 21 departments. Sarma stated in social media posts that these appointments will be in addition to the 27,737 candidates he has already appointed since taking over in May of last year.

Ahead of the Durga Puja 2022 celebration, the Assam government issued a fresh set of guidelines for the committees and organizers. After suffering from Covid 19 for the past two years, the country is preparing to celebrate Durga Puja 2022 in grand style. Although puja committees will have to take prior permission from the offices of deputy commissioners of all districts before organizing events.

2nd October, Sunday- Saptami
3rd October, Monday- Ashtami
4th October, Tuesday- Nabami
Durga Puja is a ten-day celebration. The festivities officially begin on the sixth day. According to popular mythology, Goddess Durga arrived on Earth on this day after killing the demon Mahishasur on the cosmic plane.
