A puja mandap has been built on the pattern of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building at Bijni in the Chirang district. Already 80 percent of the work on this pandal has been completed.
As Durga Puja is approaching, along with other states of the country, preparations are going on in full swing in Assam. Every puja pandal is now boundless busy. Attractive puja pandals have been erected in different parts of the state. The construction of puja pandals in various interesting patterns is underway to attract the audience.

The puja mandap has been built on the pattern of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building at Bijni in the Chirang district. Already 80 percent of the work on this pandal has been completed. The 90-feet high puja pandal has been built at Shiv Shankar Colony Durga Puja.

According to reports, Ranjit Das of Patildaha in the Bongaigaon district built the puja pandal. This puja pandal was built in the style of the Burj Khalifa using steel, wood, bamboo, and other natural materials. The Durga Puja committee has budgeted approximately Rs 12-13 lakh for this puja pandal.
This puja pandal will be decorated with attractive lighting once construction is completed. The Durga Puja Celebration Committee hopes that this pandal will be one of the state’s highlights.
Meanwhile, Ahead of the Durga Puja celebration, the Assam government issued a fresh set of guidelines for the committees and organizers. After suffering from Covid 19 for the past two years, the country is preparing to celebrate Durga Puja in grand style. Although puja committees will have to take prior permission from the offices of deputy commissioners of all districts before organizing events.

2nd October, Sunday- Saptami
3rd October, Monday- Ashtami
4th October, Tuesday- Nabami
Durga Puja is a ten-day celebration. The festivities officially begin on the sixth day. According to popular mythology, Goddess Durga arrived on Earth on this day after killing the demon Mahishasur on the cosmic plane.
