Assam reports 830 new Covid cases and two death

A total of 830 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Assam on Wednesday (July 20).

The new cases were detected out of 7,651 tests that were conducted during the day.

The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 10.85 per cent on Wednesday.

Among the fresh cases, highest number of cases were reported from Baksa (84), followed by Sonitpur (71), Dibrugarh (57), Goalpara (56) and Nagaon (56).

While 37 cases reported from Kamrup Metro.

With the addition of fresh cases, the total number of active cases in the state now stands at 5,243.

Meanwhile, two more patients – one each from Jorhat and Nalbari district succumbed to the infection on Wednesday.

Further, 443 patients recovered on Wednesday. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.20 per cent.

The daily fresh cases of coronavirus, which had dipped to zero in the State on March 10, is showing an upward trend since the last month.

Meanwhile, India reported 21,566 new cases in the last 24 hours.
