Assam: According to police, a man was brutally beaten up by some people and his vehicle was set on fire on suspicion of being a child kidnapper in Assam’s Cachar district on Wednesday (September 21).
“That person was attacked, and his vehicle was set on fire. The individual was seriously injured, and police rescued and rushed him to the hospital. We have opened an investigation into today’s incident and will take firm action against those responsible “SP Numal Mahatta stated.
He also urged people not to believe in rumors.

“I request all Cachar district citizens not to believe any rumors; if they find any person spreading rumors or any suspected person, inform the police immediately and we will take action; don’t take law into your own hands,” Mahatta added.
In this regard, additional investigation is being conducted.
On the other, Assam Police have requested people to verify any information they receive on social media. On Thursday Assam Police took to Twitter to alert people “This is to inform you that some mischievous elements are trying to create panic by sharing this Fake Screenshot. Citizens are requested not to share or forward such misleading information. Strict action is being initiated against anyone found promoting these messages.”
