The Assam government has decided to issue minority certificates to six minority communities in the state. Health minister Keshab Mahanta said.
The decision was taken during a state cabinet meeting held in Guwahati under the chairmanship of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma.
Talking to the media Mahanta said, “The Assam Cabinet has decided to issue minority certificates to people belonging to six religious minority communities – Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis.
