After the banned group United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) issued a threat, Assam Police Directorate General, GP Singh, promptly declared that the state police is committed to eradicating the lingering presence of terrorism obstructing the state’s development.
Using his personal X handle, the DGP stated that every member of Assam Police, Army, and CAPF pledges allegiance under the National Flag to safeguard the nation’s integrity and sovereignty.

The banned organization United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) asserted on December 10 that they were accountable for the recent grenade explosions in Sivasagar and Tinsukia.
In a cautionary message, they warned Assam Director General of Police G.P. Singh, advising him not to perceive the state police as his “ancestral property” and threatening additional attacks unless he alters his position.
In taking credit for the two incidents, the group stated that it was a direct response to what they perceive as GP Singh’s arrogance. They conveyed a message to the DGP, urging him to recognize that ULFA-I might carry out operations anywhere in the future if he doesn’t cease treating Assam Police as his family’s possession.
