In the last 4 years(2019- 2023),during the rule of BJP, data shows that ED and CBI registered cases had a total of 129 cases, and approximately 95% of these cases are against the opposition party leaders.

On the other hand, over the span of 9 years, it has been claimed that 8 political leaders were cleaned of allegiance through the BJP’s “Washing Machine” which includes Himanta Biswa Sarma, Narayan Rane, Suvendu Adhikari, Bhabana Gawali, Pratap Sarnaik, Yamini Jadav, Yashwant Jadav and B.S Yediyurappa. Thus this raised the concerns over political bias.

Ripun Bora, the president of the Assam Trinamool Congress (TMC) party, on behalf of the opposition alliance parties, at a press conference held at Hotel Lily in Guwahati, stated that, “During BJP’s rule, from 2014 to 2023, spanning nine years, the constitutional duties of the CBI have been gradually dissolving.”

“The ruling party has failed to take any actions against these investigative agencies, alleging that the government has been using them as puppets to maintain control over the opposition alliances, which poses a threat to the constitution”, he added.

Moreover, a total of 56 opposition party leaders have been interrogated and arrested. Prominent figures like Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi,Abhishek Banerjee, Dipak Adhikari, Aparupa Podder, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejaswi Yadav, and many more were subjected to interrogations, while leaders including Satyendra Jain, P.
