Sahityarathi Laxminath Bezbarua Samannay Khetra in Morigaon is gearing up for the initiation of 18th All Assam Students Union, AASU Annual Convention.
The 18th convention is scheduled to take place for three consecutive days, from November 21 to 23.
To ensure smooth coordination among organization representatives from diverse regions and address their concerns, special arrangements for main pavilion, accommodation, conference halls, dining, trade fair venues, book fair, martyr’s podium, and flag hosting podium have been implemented. The construction of these facilities is nearly finished.
A group of 10,000 students from various regions of the state is set to assemble for the convention.
On the morning of November 21st at 9 am, Jursing Bordoloi, the president of Tiwa Rajdarbar, will inaugurate the venue and open the entrance gate.
At 10 am on November 22nd, President(incharge) Utpal Sarma will host the AASU’s flag, and General Secretary Sankar Jyoti Baruah will pay tribute to the martyrs.
Utpal Sarma will address an open forum scheduled on November 23rd. Following that, an energetic cultural rally, quiz competition, and various programs will augment the event.
The convention will have the presence of distinguished guests, including the podadhikaar of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, Bhabendranath Deka, Dr. Surjyakanta Hazarika, the President of Assam Sahitya Sabha, and several others.
In the intense controversy over the AASU leader’s age, the convention is nearly ready to commence from tomorrow.
