This comes months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mana in October last year and expressed support for Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s declaration that Mana was the country’s first village and that every border village should be the first village. “We started considering areas that were previously ignored as the end of the country’s borders as the beginning of the country’s prosperity,” PM Modi stated.

According to CM Dhami, the country’s border areas are getting more dynamic under PM Modi’s leadership. “The Vibrant Village program was launched to address this,” Dhami explained.

The Vibrant Villages Programme will help to improve the level of living for those who live in border communities. It intends to develop 2967 villages in 46 blocks in 19 districts bordering the north, including Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, as well as the Ladakh UT.
