Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who was disqualified as a Lok Sabha MP in the ‘Modi surname’ case, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, questioning why the public’s retirement funds are invested in Adani companies despite various allegations levelled against the firm.
Gandhi stated on Twitter, “Adani receives LIC’s capital! Adani gets SBI’s capital! EPFO’s capital has also been transferred to Adani! Why is the public’s retirement money still being invested in Adani’s companies, despite the fact that ‘Modani’ has been exposed?”
After US-based short seller Hindenburg Research made a litany of allegations, including fraudulent transactions and share-price manipulation, Adani Group stocks took a beating on the bourses, sparking a major political controversy.
The Gautam Adani-led group has denied the allegations, claiming that it complies with all laws and disclosure requirements.

According to MP Sanjay Raut, the Uddhav Thackeray faction has decided not to attend a Congress meeting at party president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence on Monday because of suspended MP Rahul Gandhi’s “I am not Savarkar, I am Gandhi” comments.

According to Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant, no one from the party will attend any meeting called by the Congress, and that the grand-old party must first understand Savarkar.
“My name is not Savarkar, and I will not apologise,” Mr Gandhi said defiantly after being sentenced to prison for comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surname. However, it appears to have enraged Mr Thackeray’s party.
Earlier today, the former Maharashtra Chief Minister warned of a schism in the Maharashtra Opposition Alliance if Mr Gandhi did not “stop insulting our God.”
