Riyan Parag smashed a hundred from just 77 balls while chasing 351 runs in the Vijay Hazare Quarter-final. In a 351-run chase in the quarter-finals, Parag hit 174 in just 116 balls with 12 fours and 12 sixes, halting Assam’s red-hot streak. 

After reaching the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinals for the first time, Jammu and Kashmir set Assam a target of 351 runs, and it was Parag who came up top once again for his side, as he has done in previous tournaments.

 

He had already scored two centuries and two fifties in the tournament during the Group stage, and Parag delivered again in the quarterfinals.

The Rajasthan Royals congratulated Parag on his outstanding performance with a post that featured the middle-order batsman dressed as Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) superheroes such as Iron Man, Hulk, and Captain America, among others.

 

Assam advanced to the semifinals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 thanks to his outstanding form, and he will be hoping to lead his team all the way.

The youngster was backed by the inaugural IPL champions, and his stellar form will undoubtedly help Rajasthan Royals in the future. Apart from Assam, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Saurashtra have also qualified for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 semifinals.

On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad has become the first player in limited-overs cricket history to hit seven sixes in an over. The record for most sixes in an over (overall) is still held by Lee Germon of New Zealand, who hit eight of them in a mind-boggling turn of events in Wellington’s Shell Trophy match.

During a Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, B Ground in Ahmedabad on Monday, Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad became the first batter in limited-overs cricket to score seven sixes and 43 runs in a single over. During the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final match against Uttar Pradesh, Gaikwad hit seven sixes in an over.
