Ranji Trophy 2022-23: Assam completed the formalities by claiming the last batter Kartikeya Kak, trapped lbw by off-spinner Riyan Parag, in the first over of the day, and register a thrilling 18-run win over Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Friday.

On Friday, December 30, Assam defeated Hyderabad by 18 runs in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 Elite Group B match in Hyderabad. Hyderabad resumed Day 4 on 228/9, chasing 250.

Tanmay Agarwal, the captain, was unbeaten on 123. He was left stranded on 126, however, after Riyan Parag (4/93) trapped the last man, Kartikeya Kak lbw for one. Player of the Match was awarded to Parag for his outstanding all-around performance. He took four wickets in the first innings and smashed 78 off 28 balls in Assam’s second innings.

 

Saurashtra defeated Mumbai by 48 runs in another Elite Group B clash of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

Mumbai began Day 4 on 218/8, needing 280 to win. Tushar Deshpande was dismissed for 13 by Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, while Shams Mulani was dismissed for 34 by Yuvrajsinh Dodiya. In their second innings, Mumbai were bowled out for 231 in 74 overs.

Uttarakhand defeated Himachal Pradesh by five wickets in Elite Group A matches of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23, while Baroda defeated Uttar Pradesh by four wickets.
