Prithvi Shaw, Mumbai’s buccaneering opener, smashed his first-ever T20 century—a majestic 134 off 61 balls—against Assam in an Elite Group ‘A’ match of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at SCA Stadium in Rajkot on Friday.
Mumbai captain Prithvi Shaw went beast mode during his team’s recent match against Assam in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2022, which was played on October 14 in Rajkot.
Mrinmoy Dutta, the captain of Assam, won the toss and chose to bowl first, unaware that his bowlers were about to be hammered by one of India’s best young talents. Though Riyan Parag dismissed Aman Khan for 15, Prithvi Shaw started digging in and delivered a modern-day T20 bashing knock.

According to reports, Shaw, who scored a Test century on debut against the West Indies in 2018, last appeared for India in July on a white-ball tour to Sri Lanka. Shaw scored only 283 runs in 10 innings for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022, including two fifties, and missed four matches at the end of the season due to typhoid. He also revealed that he has lost seven to eight kilograms in the last few months, in addition to making some lifestyle changes off the field.
