At the T20 World Cup for the Blind, India’s Sunil Ramesh and captain Ajay Kumar Reddy led their team to a third straight victory. In the championship match on Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, India defeated Bangladesh by 120 runs. After achieving an outstanding victory, Indian cricketers broke out in jubilant celebrations and began dancing. The touching video of the celebration by the Indian national blind cricket team has now gone viral.

The Hon. Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting (IB) and Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), presented awards to the Indian Blind Cricket team at a ceremony held by the MYAS in the city after they recently won the third T20 World Cup for the Blind. The team has now won three T20 World Cup championships thanks to its most recent triumph.

In addition to the entire team of players and support staff, occasionally present are Dr. Mahantesh G. K., President of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), Shri. Nisith Pramanik, Hon. Minister of State, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ajay Reddy, Captain of the Indian Blind Cricket Team.

On Saturday, the Indian national blind cricket team won the T20 World Cup for the third time in a row. India defeated Bangladesh by 120 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After winning the toss, Indian captain Ajay Kumar Reddy elected to bat, and his team eventually set Bangladesh a challenging 277-run target. Thawar Chand Gehlot, the governor of Karnataka, gave out the winner’s and runner-up trophies, and Sunil Ramesh received the match’s man of the match award.

 

In blind cricket, each team consists of eleven players: four fully blind, three partially blind, and four partially sighted. The players follow the rules and substitute a plastic ball for a typical cricket ball. It has ball bearings installed so that it makes noise when thrown. The ground-based wickets are made of metal tubes that are joined at three points.

Sunil and captain Ajay displayed outstanding batting and assisted India in reaching a huge total. Sunil needed just 63 balls to score 136 runs. His third tonne of the competition was this one. There were 24 boundaries and one six in Sunil’s innings. Ajay, on the other hand, only needed 50 deliveries to reach the three-digit mark.
