The AFC Asian Cup is less than a month away and it will kick off on January 12 with Qatar hosting Lebanon. India will play their first match a day later against Australia. The final will be held on February 10.

The organising committee of the AFC Asian cup 2023 have unveiled a family of five desert rodents as the official mascots for the AFC Asian Cup 2023. Saboog, Tmbki, Freha, Zkriti and Traeneh have been made the face of Asia’s marquee football tournament that is slated to kick off in January 2024. They made their debut in 2011 when Qatar last hosted the AFC Asian Cup.
The mascots is designed by Qatari artist Ahmed Al Maadheed, the characters represent a family of jerboas, each possessing distinctive personalities. Al Maadheed aimed to highlight the importance of teamwork in football while acknowledging the significance of family life in Qatari society.
