Foundation Day Celebration of Physics Academy of North East held successfully
The 23rd foundation day of Physics Academy of North East (PANE) is celebrated in its head office the department of Physics of Gauhati University on 6th April 2022.
The eminent nuclear physicist from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai Prof. Indranil Majumdar has delivered the foundation day talk on Studies in nuclear structure and Nucleosynthesis using proton beam. He delivered an excellent talk enlightening the gathering of students, research scholars, faculty members who are attending it persons (60) and online(20). During the celebration the head of Physics Department, Prof. B. Bhattacharjee delivered the welcome address to the august gathering and opined to start a new scheme on Catch them Young’ and about the role of PANE on guiding the universities in implementing NEP2020. During the deliberation, the president of PANE and eminent high energy physicist Prof. N. Nimai Singh from Manipur University put emphasis on the sustainability of PANE in general and to serve the society by introducing a new e-technical journal for north eastern states and later on be enlisted by UGC care list. He also enlighten the gathering to induct new Summer training school for young secondary and B. Sc. level students where can guide the younger in proper way to serve the society in days to come. The meeting was also attended by distinguished invitees Prof. D.K. Choudhury and Prof. Barin Kr Sarma the former office-bearers of PANE. The modus-operandi of the foundation day celebration is architected by Prof. Kushal Kalita, the general secretary of PANE and conducted by office-bearers of PANE.
