After securing victory in three states, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims for an NDA win in the northeastern region.
Ahead of the counting of votes for the Mizoram Assembly Elections, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma predicted on Sunday that one of the regional parties would win the elections.
Following the BJP’s success in the assembly polls of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, CM Sarma stated that either the Mizo National Front (MNF) or Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) is set to secure victory in the upcoming assembly elections.
He additionally commented, “Both parties will align with our coalition.”
It’s worth noting that the vote counting for the 40 seats in the Mizoram Assembly Elections commenced on Monday morning. As of 12:30 pm, Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) is in the lead for 15 seats and has secured victory in 12, while Mizo National Front (MNF) is leading in 8 seats and has won two.
Furthermore, the BJP has secured one seat and is leading in another, and the Congress is in the lead for one seat.
