Ashwajit Gaikwad, the son of a prominent bureaucrat in Maharashtra, reportedly brutally assaulted his girlfriend, 26-year-old social media influencer Priya Singh, in a distressing incident that occurred on Monday morning near a Thane hotel. Priya was allegedly assaulted and then intentionally run over by a car with the intent to kill her.
Ashwajit Gaikwad is identified as the son of Anil Gaikwad, the Managing Director at the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation. The attack, which left Priya with severe injuries, has triggered widespread condemnation.
According to Priya, the evening took a frightening turn when she received a call from Ashwajit, requesting her presence at a family event. Initially expected to be an ordinary gathering, the situation quickly turned alarming as Priya observed her boyfriend’s peculiar conduct. Seeking to handle the matter sensibly, she confronted Ashwajit, resulting in an overflow of abuse from him and his associates.
The appalling attack didn’t conclude there. When Priya attempted to recover her possessions from Ashwajit’s vehicle, he purportedly instructed his driver to deliberately hit her. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 am on Ghodbunder Road, causing Priya to sustain severe injuries from the vehicle collision.
In a disturbing turn of events, Priya asserted that she endured pain on the road for almost thirty minutes before a bystander stepped in and sought help. Due to her phone being in Ashwajit’s possession, she couldn’t seek assistance sooner.
In her Instagram statement, Priya claimed that her boyfriend utilised his connections to attempt to suppress the issue. Additionally, she shared images depicting her injuries.
