The upcoming 17th Lok Sabha elections in the Country scheduled to be held in April- May 2024, are gradually approaching and the intensifying election buzz is making it highly anticipated.

According to a third round of polls released by C-Voter today, the NDA led by BJP is expected to secure approximately 295-335 seats, while the opposition Congress and its allies are projected to attain 165-205 seats.

West India is expected to witness intense competition. However, according to C-Voter’s latest analysis, there is a possibility of BJP, along with its allies, securing a significant number of seats in the key states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, as reported by Chi-Voter and ABP News.

The ABP News-C Voter opinion poll forecasts the re-election of the Modi government in 2024, though it identifies the South as a challenging region for the NDA (National Democratic Alliance).

The survey results and predictions are derived from C-Voter Opinion Poll CATI interviews (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) conducted between December 15 and December 21 among adults aged 18 and above throughout the state, encompassing “all confirmed voters.” The survey, which covers 543 seats, had a sample size of 13,115, as stated.

The ABP News-C Voter’s zone-wise projections indicate that the BJP/NDA is expected to secure 80-90 seats out of 153 in the east zone, the highest tally of 150-160 seats out of 180 in the north zone, 45-55 out of 78 in the west zone, and 20-30 out of 132 in the south zone. However, the South is the only region where the BJP/NDA is trailing, with the Congress/I.N.D.I.A projected to win 70-80 seats. In the other three zones, the INC (Congress)/I.N.D.I.A is expected to get 50-60, 20-30, and 25-35 in the east, north, and west, respectively.

The ABP News-C Voter survey suggests that the NDA is “comfortably ahead,” with all BJP-ruled states, including Madhya Pradesh (27-29), Chhattisgarh (9-11), Rajasthan (23-25), and Uttar Pradesh (73-75), indicating support for its candidates. “In Congress-ruled Karnataka, the BJP is also projected to secure 22-24 seats with a vote share of 52%, while the Congress is expected to win 4-6 seats with a 43% vote share. In MP, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, the Opposition alliance is forecasted to get only 0-2 seats each,” as per the ABP News-C Voter.

As per the opinion poll, the states where the Congress and the opposition INDIA bloc are leading include Telangana (9-11 seats), Bihar (21-23), and Maharashtra (26-28). In Punjab, the Congress is predicted to secure 5-7 Lok Sabha seats, while the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may get 4-6 seats.

“In West Bengal, where the I.N.D.I.A seat share will be a matter of debate, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) could secure 23-25 seats, and Congress and Left together 0-2, against the BJP’s 16-18, if the elections are held now,” stated ABP News-C Voter.

According to the ABP News-C Voter opinion poll, most respondents believe that the INDIA block of opposition parties “will not remain united until the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.”
