Assam: Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium has reportedly been shortlisted as the venue for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, in a significant development.
According to reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the final match of the 2023 World Cup will be held on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
According to the report, the name of Guwahati’s Barsapara stadium has been added to the list of World Cup venues.

“Although some reports have surfaced, nothing is official as of yet. We will try to make it happen, and there is a chance that a few World Cup matches will be played here,” said Assam Cricket Association (ACA) president Taranga Gogoi in an exclusive interview with media sources.
The World Cup is set to begin on October 5, and 48 matches will be played over 46 days in 12 cities across India.
Delhi, Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Chennai, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai are among the cities.

The Baraspara cricket stadium seats 40,000 people and is outfitted with cutting-edge technology such as floodlights.
The first match was played on October 21, 2018, between India and the West Indies, and the final ODI was played on January 10, 2023, between India and Sri Lanka.
In addition, the stadium has hosted two T20I matches between India and Australia, as well as India and South Africa.
The 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup final will be held on November 19 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium.
