Majuli residents are mourning the untimely death of Tejaswita Baruah, a popular child artist from Majuli’s Daria village. Tejaswita Baruah, who became ill and fell into the namghar while performing borgeet at a cultural function commemorating Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva’s birth anniversary, was taken to the district hospital in Gadmur and treated there.

Doctors said the artist died of a sudden cardiac arrest. Meanwhile, the district hospital in Gadamur has taken over the responsibility of providing oxygen supply or injection saline to Tejasvita, who was unconscious even after being in the hospital for about an hour and a half, according to a complaint filed by the people and family of Daria village in Majuli. People want a thorough investigation into this matter.
Following the death of an artist in Assam’s Majuli district on Thursday, the superintendent of Garmur Hospital was suspended.
The punitive action taken against the superintendent, identified as Amulya Goswami, was directed by the Health Department.
Following her death, residents have claimed that her treatment was negligent.
According to some reports, she was also seen by an ophthalmologist, which contributed to the negligence.
Locals also stated that the district’s hospital does not have enough doctors and that dealing with this many emergency situations is difficult.
Many have even claimed that due to transportation issues, locals are unable to move to other districts in times of medical emergency.
