Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should visit flood-hit Assam instead of toppling the Maharashtra government.
Over 54 lakh people in 34 district of Assam have been reeling under flood water with over 100 casualties.
Gogoi said, “”If there’s a crisis, it’s that of floods. BJP has gone blind for power. There’re floods in Assam, PM should visit the state, announce special package but he’s busy toppling Maharashtra govt, or in Gujarat elections…Only power is everything for BJP.”
Assam has become an epicentre of Maharashtra politicswhere around 49 rebel MLA led by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Sindhe have been residing in luxury hotel Radisson Blue hotel in the outskirt of the city.
