HOIST TRICOLOUR AT HOMES ON AUG 15 TO PROVE YOU ARE GENUINE CHILDREN OF MOTHER INDIA: CM TO ASSAM RESIDENTS

Must Read

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called on all the residents of Assam to hoist the Tricolor at their respective houses between August 13 and 15. Sarma said the Assam residents should do this to prove that they are “real children of Mother India”.

The BJP leader said merely applying to be registered in the Assam NRC is not enough. You have to give the proof by hoisting Tricolour.

Between August 13 and 15 this year, hoist the Tricolor in your houses. Applying for the NRC to say that you are Indian citizens is not enough. You have to give proof by hoisting the Tricolor that you are genuine children of Bharat Mata. Is it or not?” CM Sarma asked at an event in Udalguri in North Assam Tuesday.

The Assam Chief Minister further informed that the government will make the Tricolor available for Rs 16 each at ration shops in the state.

“We will not take it for free, because we have an obligation towards the country. We will not take the flag given by others, we will buy it ourselves,” he said, urging the residents to buy flags on the occasion of India completing 75 years of Independence this August 15.

The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about our national flag.

The cultural affairs department has started preparations for successful implementation of the programme with the panchayat and rural development, information and public relations department and other govt departments,” the Assam government said in a statement, as per reports.

The CM had earlier stated a few days back that his government is aiming to hoist 80 lakh flags all over the state.

We’ve been making elaborate arrangements to provide flags to every household. For awareness, we’ll take several steps including theme songs, media publicity, etc,” he posted on Twitter.
