The Guwahati airport issued an advisory on Thursday, advising passengers to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure time to avoid the holiday rush.

The facility anticipates an increase in passenger volume, which is likely to increase further as the holiday season approaches.

“We request all our passengers, transiting through the airport, to allocate additional time for travel-related formalities and mandatory security protocols.

“International and domestic passengers flying through our airport are advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight,” the Adani Group-controlled Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport said in an advisory.

It also stated that due to increased VIP and passenger traffic, roads are frequently congested and traffic is diverted.

“To avoid delays as a result of this, please arrive at the airport well in advance,” the Guwahati International Airport Ltd (GIAL), the operator of LGBI Airport, advised.
