Assam will receive 9 World Records for Amrit Brikshya Andolan on Nov 29

On November 29, the Guinness Book of World Records will honor Assam with nine certificates for establishing and surpassing world records during the extensive tree plantation initiative, 'Amrit Brikshya Andolan,' conducted in September of this year.

On November 29, the Guinness Book of World Records will honor Assam with nine certificates for establishing and surpassing world records during the extensive tree plantation initiative, ‘Amrit Brikshya Andolan,’ conducted in September of this year.

Amrit Brikshya Andolan, under the guidance of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, commenced on June 8, 2023, aimed to promote a greener and sustainable environment within the state.

The principal goal of this initiative is to plant One Crore seedlings, with the aim of enriching Assam’s greenery and fostering a resilient, tree- centric economy.

According to the sources, the Government of Assam will receive the certificates during a Certificate Award Ceremony at 3 pm in Guwahati’s Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will be the chief guest at the ceremony, accompanied by the presence of Environment and Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.

The following records were established in September of the current year:

  1. Longest line of Potted Saplings (September 9) 
  2. Largest number of saplings distributed at one venue in 24 hours (September 10)
  3.  Most trees planted by a team in 24 hours (September 13-14)
  4. Most trees planted by a team in 1 hour (September 15) 
  5. Largest potted saplings mosaic (September 16) 
  6. Most people planting trees simultaneously (September 17) 
  7. Most viewers of an environmental sustainability lesson livestream on YouTube (September 11) 
  8. Largest photo album of people planting trees-online (September 9-17) 
  9. Most pledges received for an environmental sustainability campaign in 1 month (September 9-17)
