On March 14, the Assam DGP tweeted about the development. He also stated that arrests had taken place in Guwahati, North Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sadiya, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia.

His tweet read, “Reference paper leakage case of General Science (C3) of HSLC examination being conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam – 22 persons have been detained at/from Guwahati, North Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sadiya, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia. Further lawful action as mandated by law is being taken against them. We remain committed to unearth the network of people involved in leakage of the question paper and the conspirators.”

On Monday, March 13, the Assam Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrested three people for their alleged involvement in the paper leak incident.
Jyotirekha Borgohain and Herambo Kumar Das, both educators, and driver Bindeshwar Tumung were among those apprehended. All three are employees of the Bhauri Devi Sarawgi Secondary School.
However, the CID is also questioning another accused named Chitra Roy in connection with the case. He has not, however, been apprehended.
In response to tips, the CID arrested seven students for their alleged involvement in the paper leak incident. They are all students at a private school in Dibrugarh. The CID team is currently questioning the students.
Meanwhile, SEBA Examination Controller Nayan Jyoti Sarma and Chief Controller Jimli Kakoty Saikia have been summoned by the CID.
