A governor’s notification earlier stated that Superintendent of Police, Lakhimpur, IPS Anand Mishra (RR-2011), and Superintendent of Police (Border-II), APS Randeep Kumar Baruah (DR-1993), were made available to the Manipur government to assume command of the SITs established for Manipur incidents promptly.

The Assam police has assigned both of the state’s top cops to support the Manipur government in its investigation of the Manipur violence cases. He has millions of fans on the internet, and the locals greatly admire him for his modesty and grounded nature. He gained fame unexpectedly after being appointed Superintendent of Police and moved from Dhubri to Nagaon.

Rumours are surfing around that SP Mishra is likely to contest for Lok Sabha election. However this has not been cleared by Mishra yet.
