Assam Cabinet Decision: In a significant move, Assam Cabinet has decided to provincialise 419 LP schools, 2 ME schools and 1 High school run by the Tea Garden managements in Assam.
Assam Government will create 2 posts of assistant teachers in each of the LP Schools, 3 posts of teachers in the ME Schools and 6 posts of teachers in the High School managed by the Tea Gardens, respectively. The schools will now regularly receive MDM, free textbooks and uniforms.

Furthermore, the Assam government will create two assistant teacher positions in each of the LP Schools, three teacher positions in the ME Schools, and six teacher positions in the Tea Gardens High School.
These 819 teacher positions will be filled for 419 tea garden-managed LP schools, 2 tea garden-managed ME schools, and 1 tea garden-managed high school.
On March 20, Assam Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu will introduce two education bills in the Assam Legislative Assembly.
The Assam Elementary and Secondary School Teachers Bill-2023, as well as the Assam College Employees (Provincialization Amendment) Bill-2023, will be introduced in the Assembly.
