On Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma instructed the state’s district commissioners (DC) to implement measures aimed at preventing fraudulent alterations to land documents.
This follows the recent uncovering by Guwahati Police of a significant operation engaged in producing fake land records and documents.
During a review meeting at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Guwahati, CM Sarma instructed the district commissioners to closely monitor the operations within their offices, particularly those of the sub-registrar and deputy-registrar offices under their jurisdiction.
At the meeting, the chief minister assessed the progress of the state’s schemes, including Mission Basundhara 2.0.
CM Sarma also received updates on the distribution of ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and the advancements in Khel Maharan and Sanskritik Mahasangram.
