Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the flood affected Barak valley to review the flood situation in the area. where a resident braved flood waters to greet him with a ‘Gamusa’ on Sunday.

The CM also inspected flood-affected areas and listened to people’s grievances in Silchar.
“Inspected the magnitude of flood & extent of damage at Rangirkhari, Silchar on a boat during my second visit to the flood-hit town. During my more than one-hour inspection, saw the hardships faced by people as most areas are still reeling under floodwaters.”

At least four more people, including two children, died in flood in Assam in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 121 on Saturday.
Though the overall flood situation in Assam improved slightly on Saturday, over 25.10 lakh people in 2,894 villages across 27 districts of the state still remain affected by the floods.
