Agriculture Minister of Assam, Atul Bora, announces that approximately 12.09 Lakh Farmers of the state will receive ₹2,000 each under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman (PM- Kisan) scheme.
Bora announced it right after Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 15th instalment of the PM- Kisan scheme during an event in Jharkhand.
Bora joined the program through video conferencing from Guwahati, expressing his honour at the occasion.
He posted on the social media platform X, “Honoured to join the program through video conferencing from Guwahati. Under the 15th installment, over 8 crore farmers of the nation will receive a total of about 18,000 crore through DBT”.

The PM Kisan scheme is a central sector scheme that became operational in December 2018, which aims to provide income support to small and marginal farmers across the country.
Under the scheme, the eligible farmers receive direct financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year, distributed in three equal installments.
