A decision was taken to remove the age restrictions for leadership positions in the AASU convention held in Morigaon, ensuring that Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya, AASU’s chief advisor, will continue his current role.

During the convention some decisions were made to resolve the debating issues of the Union.

As part of several significant decisions aimed at revitalizing the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), one notable choice was the removal of the age restriction for senior positions. The outcome of this decision is that Dr. Samujjal Bhattacharjya, AASU’s chief advisor, will continue his position.

AASU’s 18th ongoing convention held at Sahityarathi Laxminath Bezbarua Sammannay Khetra in Morigaon, was scheduled to take place for three consecutive days, from November 21 to 23.

The Coordinating Committee of Morigaon has organized a convention where a group of 10,000 students from various regions of the state assembled.

Amongst the significant resolutions made at the AASU convention, it was determined that moving forward, there will be three to four senior invited members, and the AASU unit at the sub-division level will be eliminated.

Simultaneously, the convention also resolved that students invited to join the organization associated with the significant Assam Accord will not face restrictions regarding age or educational qualifications.

Additionally, it was also decided that from now on, the AASU convention will take place every four years, with an annual general meeting scheduled for each year.
