Indian Railway: According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the railways plan to increase their capacity for issuing tickets from 25,000 to 2.25 lakh per minute and attending to inquiries from 40,000 to four lakh per minute.
The minister also stated at a press conference here that a target of 7,000 kilometres of new railway tracks will be laid in the fiscal year 2023-24.

“The capacity for responding to inquiries will also be increased from 40,000 to four lakh per minute,” Vaishnaw said.
He also announced the construction of “Jan Suvidha” convenience stores at 2,000 railway stations across the country, which will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Vaishnaw stated in Budget 2023 that it will act as a growth engine for the country. “The FM has allocated 2.41 lakh crore for Railways, which will be a significant change for the sector because it will meet the aspirations of every passenger,” he explained.
The minister stated that the railway is growing every year, highlighting the sector’s developments. The ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme will redevelop 1275 stations, while the production of Vande Bharat trains will be revamped.
