Shahdol Train Accident: A train pilot was killed and four people were injured on Wednesday morning when a goods train collided with another parked goods train at Singhpur railway station in Shahdol district.

Both trains were carrying coal. One of the trains was on the platform when another train arrived from Anuppur and collided with the halted train, causing a fire in the stalled train’s engine.

Two goods trains derailed in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district on Wednesday due to a ‘signal overshoot,’ causing traffic on the Bilaspur-Katni rail route to be disrupted, according to an official from the Bilaspur railway division.

According to the authority, the freight trains did not collide.

At roughly 6.50 a.m., the incident occurred near Singhpur station.

 

“The derailment occurred due to signal overshoot,” the spokesman added, without providing any specifics.

According to him, this caused traffic problems on the Bilaspur-Katni railway line.

Madhya Pradesh Shahdol Train accident news

According to reports, a cargo train filled with coal was already stopped at Singhpur railway station, and the light was also red. Meanwhile, another coal-laden cargo train from Katni arrived on the same track. Even though the light was red, the goods train from Katni proceeded and collided with the goods train on the railway track. During the collision, both trains derailed. According to reports, both cargo trains were bound towards Budhar railway station.

 

The freight train, which was parked at Singhpur railway station in MP Shahdol, had one engine in front and one behind it. In the cargo train from Katni, two engines were running and one was not. This railway collision has destroyed four engines. Fire broke out in all four engines following the crash. According to reports, loco pilot Rajendra Prasad and assistant loco pilot Rituraj Singh were in the back engine of a cargo train that was stopped on the track. Rajendra Prasad was killed on the spot after colliding with the engine. While assistant loco pilot Rituraj Singh is in the hospital for treatment.
