WhatsApp has been down since 12.30 p.m. today, with users unable to send messages to group chats and only one tick appearing on messages sent to individuals. Many WhatsApp users worldwide reported problems with their chats.
Downdetector is reporting a significant increase, with approximately 30,000 reports online. Users report that their messages are not being delivered. Even when the messages are delivered, the app does not display the delivery status. Most metro cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Lucknow, appear to be hotspots on the Downdetector live outage map.

According to Meta “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages, and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as soon as possible,” a Meta company spokesperson said.
