On December 12, the Twitter Blue subscription relaunches. The new Twitter Blue will allow users to obtain the Blue verification mark, which was previously only available to celebrities, journalists, and select personalities.
Elon Musk, Twitter’s new owner, has stated that the platform will soon increase the character limit from 280 to 4000, indicating a major overhaul for the microblogging service. Originally limited to 140 characters, the limit was increased to 280 in November 2017. Twitter has always been a platform for ‘micro-blogging.’ When a Twitter user named Allan Obare asked if the platform would increase the character limit to 4000, Elon Musk responded with a quick “Yes.”
Twitter encourages users to write in short bursts, with Twitter Threads being used to share longer pieces of content. Many Twitter users are skeptical of the new 4000 character limit because it resembles Facebook; the Twitter team may only offer it to those who have upgraded to the paid Twitter Blue tier.

Twitter Blue, the social media giant’s paid monthly subscription service, will be relaunched on Monday (local time), according to Elon Musk’s company.
“we’re launching @TwitterBlue on Monday – subscribe on web for $8/month or on iOS $11/month to get access to subscriber-only features, including the blue checkmark,” said Twitter on Sunday.

The following are some of the subscription service’s features, as announced by the San Francisco-based company:
(1.) Users will receive a blue tick indicating that their handle has been verified; the tick will be given only after Twitter has reviewed the account.
(2) For businesses, a gold checkmark will replace the ‘official’ label, and for governments and government organisations, a grey checkmark will replace the label.
subscribers will be able to change their handle, display name or profile photo, but if they do they’ll temporarily lose the blue checkmark until their account is reviewed again

(3.) Subscribers will also have access to the Edit Tweet feature, higher quality video uploads (1,080p), and a’reader mode.’
(4.) Users will have the option of changing their handle, display name, or profile photo. However, this would result in a temporary loss of the blue tick as the account would be reviewed again.
thanks for your patience as we’ve worked to make Blue better – we’re excited and looking forward to sharing more with you soon!

How much should you pay for Twitter Blue?
While Android users will continue to pay $8 per month, iPhone owners will have to pay $11 per month. Musk has kept the 30% cut charged by Apple on revenue from iOS apps on its App Store when raising the price of the iPhone.
