Sandhya Devanathan was named Vice President of Meta India by Meta (formerly Facebook) on Thursday, following the departure of several key executives from the company in recent days. Her new position will begin on January 1, 2023, and she will report to Dan Neary, Vice President, Meta APAC.

Sandhya will concentrate on the organization’s business and revenue priorities in order to better serve its partners and clients, while also supporting Meta’s long-term growth and commitment to India, according to the company. “I’m pleased to welcome Sandhya as our new leader for India,” said Marne Levine, Chief Business Officer at Meta. Sandhya has a track record of successfully scaling businesses, building exceptional and inclusive teams, driving product innovation, and forging strong partnerships. We are delighted to have her leading Meta’s continued expansion in India.”

According to the company, Devanathan will focus on bringing the organization’s business and revenue priorities together to serve its partners and clients, while continuing to support Meta’s long-term growth and commitment to India.

She joined Meta in 2016 and has contributed to the growth of the Singapore and Vietnam businesses and teams, as well as Meta’s Southeast Asian e-commerce initiatives.

 

In 2020, she was promoted to lead gaming for APAC, one of Meta’s largest verticals globally.

Meanwhile, amid the increased insecurity and mass layoffs, WhatsApp’s Head of India, Abhijit Bose, and Meta India’s Director of Public Policy, Rajiv Aggarwal, have resigned, the company confirmed on Tuesday.

Shivnath Thukral, Director of WhatsApp Public Policy in India, has been appointed as Director, Public Policy, Meta India (across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in India), succeeding Aggarwal, who joined Meta from Uber last year.
