World Egg Day: World Egg Day was established in 1996 at the International Egg Commission’s Vienna conference. World Egg Day is observed on the second Friday of October, which falls on October 14 this year. This annual celebration reminds people that the egg is not only nutritious, but it is also environmentally sustainable, versatile, and affordable.

World Egg Day: Here Are 5 Delicious Variations You Must Try:

1. Pizza Omelette:

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs , beaten
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp tomato passata sauce (from a jar)
  • handful of stoned black olives
  • 85g vegetarian cheddar , grated

Method

  • STEP 1

    Heat grill to high. Beat the eggs with the oregano and some salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large ovenproof frying pan, then tip in the eggs. Cook over a low-ish heat for 4 mins, stirring occasionally until the eggs are practically set.

    Place under the grill until set and puffed up. Spread the sauce over, scatter with cheese and olives, then grill again until cheese is melted. Cut into wedges and serve with a green salad.

    2. Bharwan Capsicum Omelette:

    Ingredients 

    • 1 Egg
    • 1 Capsicum
    • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
    • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
    • 1/2 small Chopped Onion
    • 1/2 Tomato (Chopped)
    • Salt as per taste
    • Cheese

Method:

1. Take a bowl and break an egg in it.
2. Then add chopped onions and tomatoes with salt, pepper and red chilli. Whisk it properly.
3. Take one capsicum, remove the top of it. Deseed and clean it from the inside.
4. Add the egg mixture in capsicum, top it with some cheese, and bake until cooked.
5. Once it is done, serve and enjoy with your family!

3. Spanish Omelette:

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm mixed cooked vegetables
  • 250 gm potatoes- peeled seeded diced
  • 3 Tbsp oil preferably olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp chopped garlic
  • 2 small onions- sliced
  • 5 eggs
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 1 Tbsp paprika
  • 1 Tbsp chopped garden herbs

Method: 

1. Mix the vegetables and tomatoes together.
2. Heat oil and Add chopped garlic and onion.
3. Cover and cook over a gentle heat until soft but not colored.
4. Stir in the vegetables and potatoes.
5. Heat through.
6. Beat the eggs, seasoning, paprika and herbs together.
7. Pour into the pan.

4.Iranian Omelette:

Ingredients:

  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • Salt as per taste

Method:

1. Heat a pan and add crushed garlic to it.
2. Then add chopped tomatoes and let them cook.
3. Till then, side by side slice the onions and fry them to a crisp.
4. Once that is done check the tomatoes and add salt, pepper, cinnamon, and red chilli powder. Mix again.
5. Now, crack two eggs on the tomato base and let them cook.
6. Once the eggs are ready, garnish them with fried onions. Serve with a flat bread and enjoy the taste!

5. African Omelette Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp mutton mince
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 tsp white onions
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli paste
  • Salt to taste

Methods:

1.Heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaf, white onions, paprika powder and red chilli paste.
2. Now spread the mutton mince on the pan, add salt and cook for few minutes.
3. Break the eggs on top and put the omelettes in a salamandor for 2 to 3 minutes.
4. Put it back on fire for a minute.
5. Serve with baked beans and toast.
