Indian Railways to run 211 special trains to handle festive rush, Check Details

During the current festival season, the Indian Railways will run 211 special trains (in pairs) to handle the increased passenger traffic. This year, these 211 special trains will make 2,561 trips until Chhath Puja. According to the statement, Indian Railways has also notified an additional 32 special trains to ensure smooth and comfortable travel for passengers during this festive season.
The Rail Ministry announced earlier this month that 179 pairs of special trains will make 2269 trips. These were intended to connect major cities throughout the country via railway routes such as Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Bhagalpur, Delhi-Muzaffarpur, and Delhi-Saharsa, among others.

To ensure passenger safety, additional Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed at major stations. Officers have been assigned to Emergency Duty at major stations to ensure that trains run smoothly.
Malpractices such as seat cornering, overcharging, and touting are also being monitored.

At major stations, “May I Help You” booths are kept open so that RPF personnel and TTEs can provide proper assistance and guidance to passengers. Major stations have on-call medical teams that include an ambulance and a paramedic team.

“The Security and Vigilance Department staff is keeping an eye out for and strictly monitoring any malpractices such as seat cornering, overcharging, and touting activity, among other things.
