Bhai Dooj 2022: The big day is approaching. Bhai Dooj honours the relationship between a brother and a sister. Bhai Dooj is observed during Diwali with the sister applying a mixture of honey, curd, and ghee to the brother’s forehead and chanting a special mantra that denotes that he is protected from all kinds of evil.

On the other hand, Bhai Dooj, another form of sibling love and protection, will be observed this year on October 26. Every year during Diwali, siblings wait for Bhai Dooj to draw a protective line around each other.
Because of the solar eclipse on Diwali’s next day, people are confused about when Govardhan Puja and Bhaiya Dooj will take place. So, this year, Govardhan and Bhaiya Dooj are celebrated on the same day, the 26th of October. The unique aspect of Bhaiya Dooj is that, for the first time in 50 years, a special coincidence occurs on Bhaiya Dooj, which will strengthen the bond between brother and sister.

Worship Bhai Dooj only in auspicious time. First of all, make the brother sit on a post and then apply akshat by tilak with kumkum. While doing the comment, say this mantra – “‘गंगा पूजे यमुना को यमी पूजे यमराज को, सुभद्रा पूजा कृष्ण को, गंगा-यमुना नीर बहे मेरे भाई की आयु बढ़े.”
After doing tilak, feed sweets to the brother and pray to Yama Devta for his brother’s long life.
