Arunachal Pradesh: Millo Sunka is the first Arunachalee actor to win the best actress at the Prisma Rome International Film Award-2023 for her performance in the short film Nocturnal Burger.

The prize was announced on the 17th of April.

Aside from “Nocturnal Burger,” Sunka is well-known in the Bollywood business for her roles in “The Last Hour” (2021) and “Axone” (2019). The people of Arunachal Pradesh are celebrating her historic win at the international film festival.

Reema Maya’s fictitious play Nocturnal Burger is about child abuse and the anguish that children suffer.

 

Millo Sunka provides us with uncommon honors. She is the first Arunachalee actor to receive an international Best Actress award. She won Best Actor at the Prisma Rome International Film Award 2023 for her short film ‘Nocturnal Burger.’

‘Nocturnal Burger’ had its international premiere at the famous Sundance Film Festival-2023, the United States’ greatest independent film festival. It is also an official selection of the 2023 Aspen Film Festival, an Oscar-qualifying film festival.

Sunka portrayed Simi, a stranger who brings a 13-year-old girl and a man in his 30s to a Mumbai police station in the middle of the night.

“I played the character Simi.” Simi brings the youngster and the older man to the station after witnessing the older man force himself on the child in a moving vehicle. “The film is about the night when the police, Simi, and the child’s parents try to figure out what happened,” Sunka explained.

Millo Sunka Arunachalee Actress is the daughter of Millo Tago and Millo Yalyo, both retired Indian Forest Service officers from Tajang village in Lower Subansiri district. Sunka and her sibling grew up in rural Karnataka, then in Bangalore, where her father was stationed.

Her on-screen career began with a supporting role in the film Axone (2020). She has since completed two short films (Stranded and Nocturnal Burger), a music video, and several advertising campaigns (Puma and Facebook Meta).

In her director’s commentary, Reema Maya describes Nocturnal Burger as a coming-of-age film “in the darkest sense.”

The film won Best Short Film, Best of the Fest, Best Director, Best Leading Actress for Millo Sunka, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound at the Prisma Rome Independent Film Awards in March 2023. It was also chosen as an official selection for the April 2023 USA Film Festival and the June 2023 Norwegian Short Film Festival.
