Sunita Khaund Bhuyan, a violinist and human resources specialist, was recently honoured with the “She Inspires Global Culture Champion Award” at an event in Bolton, Manchester, United Kingdom.

Sunita Bhuyan was honoured for her efforts to promote the use of music for creativity, well-being, and leadership.

“This is the eighth year of the She Inspires Awards, and only the third year that we have gone international. Entries have come in from Denmark, India, South Africa, the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Spain, Doha, Germany, and Turkey, as well as from all over the United Kingdom,” Gulnaz Brennan, founder of the platform She Inspires, said on the occasion.

“The calibre of the nominations has been truly exceptional. We had 187 finalists in 17 categories, and the judges’ job was especially difficult. It was encouraging to see someone from India receive the award as an agent of change through the arts,” he added.

In keeping with the ethos of serving as an Indian ambassador around the world, Bhuyan delivered a musical eulogy for HM Queen Elizabeth II at the She Inspires awards ceremony.
