Rajouri Terror Attack: Death Count Climbs To 4 as Terrorists barged into homes, opened fire

The death toll in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district has risen to four, following the death of one of the injured civilians in the hospital.

Nine other people were injured in the incident, and doctors at the Government Medical College in Rajouri said some of them are in “very critical” condition. Some of those who were critically injured were airlifted to Jammu.

The incident occurred last evening in Dangri village. According to police, two armed terrorists barged into three homes and opened fire indiscriminately. To find the terrorists, a massive search operation has been launched.

 

Dr Mehmood H Bajar, the college’s medical superintendent, confirmed four deaths and said two of those injured were airlifted to Jammu for better treatment, according to the PTI.

Deepak Kumar, Satish Kumar, Pritam Lal, and Shiv Pal have been identified as the victims.

This is the second civilian killing in Rajouri district in the last two weeks, following the deaths of two people outside an Army camp on December 16.

According to the PTI, the headman of Dangri village slammed authorities, calling the attack a major security lapse. He stated that there was a threat perception and that searches were conducted in some areas of the district.

Another critically injured civilian, along with two other injured people, died while being airlifted to Jammu.

The victims have been identified as Satish Kumar (45), Deepak Kumar (23), Pritam Lal (57), and Shishu Pal (32).

He identified the injured as Pawan Kumar (38), Rohit Pandit (27), Saroj Bala (35), Ridham Sharma (17), and Pawan Kumar (32).

According to them, the incident occurred around 7 p.m., when the two militants made their way through the forests and barged into three Hindu community houses.

The terrorists opened fire on those insides.

According to sources, the terrorists first confirmed the victims’ identities using their Aadhaar cards.

The attack was the first in many years in the otherwise peaceful Jammu region, and it occurred on the first day of the New Year.
