Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Maharashtra to inaugurate a number of development projects, flagged off the new Vande Bharat Express from Nagpur Railway Station. The sixth Vande Bharat Express in India will run between Nagpur and Bilaspur. Modi also rode the Nagpur Metro from Freedom Park Metro to Khapri Metro Station.

He also dedicated ‘Nagpur Metro Phase I’ to the nation and laid the foundation stone of ‘Nagpur Metro phase- II’.

PM Modi also unveiled the first phase of the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, which connects Nagpur and Shirdi, and took a tour of the highway. He also dedicated AIIMS Nagpur.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated rail projects worth more than Rs 1,500 crores to the nation at a public function in Nagpur. He also laid the groundwork for Nagpur’s National Institute of One Health (NIO) and the Nag river pollution abatement project.
During the event, the Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation the ‘Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Chandrapur’ and inaugurated the ‘Centre for Research, Management, and Control of Hemoglobinopathies, Chandrapur’.
Later in the day, he will travel to Goa to speak at the closing ceremony of the 9th World Ayurveda Congress. The Mopa International Airport in Goa will then be inaugurated by him.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Nagpur has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The hospital, whose foundation stone was also laid by the Prime Minister in July 2017, was built under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, a Central Sector Scheme.
AIIMS Nagpur, which is being built at a cost of more than Rs 1575 crore, is a hospital with cutting-edge facilities, including an OPD, IPD, diagnostic services, operating rooms, and 38 departments that cover all major specialty and super specialty subjects in medical science. The hospital provides modern health care facilities to Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region, as well as to the surrounding tribal areas of Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Melghat.
