On the occasion of the legendary Ahom general’s birth anniversary on November 24, the chief minister launched a web portal and a mobile app on Wednesday.
People can write in any language about Barphukan’s bravery and contribution. People can upload their writings to the portal and receive a certificate, he said.
The deputy commissioners of all districts will also distribute a pre-formatted physical booklet, which people can write on and submit to the administration for uploading to the portal, he said.
The Android app is available for download beginning Wednesday, with the iOS version available three days later.
The portal will be regularly monitored, and any derogatory content will be removed immediately, according to the chief minister.

Various essay competitions will be held, and the winning essays will be posted on the Lachit Borphukan App and portal.

In addition, on November 18, an essay competition on the Ahom commander will be held at the college, higher secondary, and primary school levels. The winning candidates’ writings will be uploaded, and certificates will be awarded to them. On November 18, Assam police and National Cadet Corps cadets will march through all Assam districts, according to Sarma.
