In less than a week since it was officially made available to the public, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence-powered chatbot that has gone viral, has surpassed one million users. Last Wednesday, ChatGPT was made available for public testing. In a tweet, Open CEO Sam Altman confirmed this. His post also drew questions about whether the company intends to keep ChatGPT free indefinitely, to which he responded that they “will have to monetize it somehow at some point,” and that the computing costs of running this are “eye-watering.”
