Gujarat Elections 2022: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will take the oath of office for the second time on December 12. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the ceremony. The BJP is set to form the state government for the seventh time in a row, setting a new record with a near-certain victory in more than 150 seats.

The Bharatiya Janata Party set a record by winning 150 seats in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly elections. The Congress has been decimated, with its tally falling below 20, while the Aam Aadmi Party, a newcomer to Gujarat politics, leads with eight seats. The elections were held in two phases across 33 districts in the BJP-ruled state on December 1 and 5.

“Today’s result is a direct result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s brilliant campaign. This is a decisive victory. Some mentioned parivartan, while others claimed victory in Gujarat. They have received the people’s response today. Some are not to be found.”-Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil

The Gujarat assembly elections are currently being counted. The BJP is set to form the state government for the seventh time in a row, setting a new record with a near-certain victory in more than 150 seats.

The previous record for the Congress was 149 seats in 1985. Congress and the AAP are far behind. The AAP claims that its performance in the Gujarat elections earned it national recognition. On December 1 and 5, elections for the 182-member assembly were held. Gujarat is the home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
