CBI arrests Delhi CM Manish Sisodia in connection with liquor policy case:  After eight hours of questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters in the national capital, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested on Sunday in connection with the excise policy case.

According to reports, the senior AAP leader was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Section 144 was also imposed in the south district, according to police, to ensure law and order. Heavy security was deployed outside Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia’s residence, and paramilitaries were stationed outside the CBI headquarters. Several AAP supporters who were protesting were detained by police.

At least 50 people were detained by the South Delhi Police for raising slogans in support of the deputy chief minister, 42 of whom were men and eight of whom were women. “Formalities are being completed to release the Aam Aadmi Party worker from Fatehpur Beri police station,” sources said.
