“@IYC President @srinivasiyc has continually harnessed me and was discriminating on the basis of my gender. My values and education doesn’t allow me anymore. The leadership has played deaf ears despite bring front of them MANY TIMES @RahulGandhi @kcvenugopalmp @priyankagandhi,” Angkita said in a tweet.

Dutta stated in one of her tweets that she informed Rahul Gandhi about the harassment in Jammu as the Bharat Jodo Yatra was entering its final leg, but no action has been done against the IYC president.

“I am a female leader.” “How am I supposed to encourage women to join Congress if I am subjected to such harassment?” she wondered.

Former Assam Youth Congress chairman Angkita Dutta has been served with a criminal defamation notice by Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Srinivas BV for allegedly using “unparliamentary and defamatory” comments against him.

The IYC accused Ms Dutta of using “utterly unparliamentary, undignified, defamatory, malicious words” against Srinivas BV in a press statement published on Tuesday by IYC national media in-charge Varun Pandey.

According to the statement, the entire process of “publicly maligning and defaming” Srinivas BV is politically driven and completely false and unjustified.

“Dr Dutta has used completely unparliamentary, undignified, defamatory, and malicious words against Srinivas BV, as well as totally sexist, chauvinistic, false, and frivolous allegations.” The IYC legal cell has taken strong, strict legal action, and as a result, IYC National President Srinivas BV has issued a Criminal Defamation notice to Dr Angkita Dutta,” according to the announcement.
