Assam: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the renovated historic Jor Pukhuri, making it more attractive while still maintaining its biodiversity. It has been renovated by the State Govt and AMRUT Mission involving an outlay of ₹3.23 cr.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also launched Swanirbhar Nari scheme under which gamosa/aronai & other handloom products will be procured from 4.8 lakh female weavers through 100 procurement centres set up for the purpose.

 

CM also vVisited the Fancy Bazar Botanical Garden site and reviewed progress of the work. Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that first phase of the botanical garden will be ready in another six months. He Asked GMDA officials to take care of ancillary facilities and make the place attractive & unique.

 

According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, new flats in Guwahati should be required to instal CCTV for the safety of residents.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, Mr Sarma said, “It will be compulsory for the new flats in Guwahati to instal CCTV. Working parents who leave their children at home will be required to instal CCTV. CCTV will be required in homes where elderly parents live alone and children live outside the country.”

“These CCTV will have to be stored for 30 days. By October of this year, Assam police will have finished installing CCTV throughout the city. We can instal 50,000 CCTV cameras in no time thanks to public-private partnerships. If there is a crime, police will serve proper legal notice on the house owner before accessing their CCTVs. There will be no invasion of privacy,” Sarma added.
